Father Theodosius's talk following Thursday's Morning Prayer. The wise woman found a precious stone in a stream and gave it away without thinking. The traveler she gave it to returned in a few days, giving it back and asking for the more precious gift, that which enabled her to give the valuable stone away without any thought. Many are still looking for that precious stone without realizing and knowing that there is a far more precious gift waiting for us. Father Theodosius' homily during Monday's noon service. He shares his experience this morning being confronted this morning as to why he was not at Sunday's pro-life demonstration. When we read the Bible we discover that there are two different meanings of sinners. One is the understanding of the Pharisee who stood in the temple praying. The other is that of the tax collector. The Pharisee's is exclusive: some people are sinners. The tax collector's is inclusive: all people are sinners.

God is not a Republican, nor is He a Democrat

Father Theodosius' homily on the third Sunday after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, October 5, 2008. Father Theodosius looks at how Christians are called to have a moral and civic responsibility to participate in the political life of society and to prayerfully measure the policies of candidates and governments against Christian ethics and values. We hear in Proverbs, "Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:9) There are many more life issues confronting voters in America then just abortion.
